DDBSA Judges Education Seminars
for Future AKC Judges of the
Dogue de Bordeaux

November 2010

The DDBSA Judges Education Committee would like to invite club members to become active in our breed education seminars. If you are not comfortable speaking in front of a group, then please consider helping out by bringing your AKC champion dogs out for a seminar.
The following are the guidelines we have created for members and their dogs to be involved in the judges education process. There is a power point CD program to be used so use of a laptop and LCD projector are needed.

Coordinating a Seminar

All Judges Education Seminars must be approved by the Judges Education Committee in their entirety, presenters, example dogs and their handlers.

All materials used in the seminar will be provided by the Judges Education Committee.

All seminars will have at least 2 members giving the presentation (see requirements below) and at least one person to handle the example dogs.

Members handling example dogs only need DDBSA approval prior to the seminar.

There will be at least 2 example dogs (see requirements below) at each seminar, preferably one of each sex.

The only materials to be distributed and/or displayed to judges attending are the materials provided and approved by the DDBSA.

After an educational seminar is given, a written report on the seminar must be turned in to the DDBSA Judges Education Committee, DDBSJudgesEd@yahoo.com

Requirements for Presenters

Ø  Must be a DDBSA member in good standing

Ø  Must have at least 3 years experience in the breed

Ø  Must be actively showing dogs in conformation

Ø  Must have titled a AKC or FCI Champion.

All presenters must be approved by the DDBSA Officials and Judges Education Committee.

**Please Note:  Presenters approval status is contingent on the availability of example dogs in their area**

All presenters will follow the approved program and outline provided by the DDBSA, and will be required to sign a statement agreeing to all Judges Education Committee Guidelines

Requirements for Example Dogs

Requirements for Example Dogs
(amended in 2010)

All dogs used must be owned by a DDBSA Member in Good Standing.

Selected example dogs are up to the discretion of the DDBSA approved presenter. At least one dog of each sex should be used when possible.

These guidelines may be amended as needed, by the Judges Education committee as the status of the Dogue de Bordeaux changes with the AKC and if any changes are made in the club approved educational program.
