The breeder called Sept. 7th, 1998. Only one red faced male was available. We
snatched him up. At six weeks he fit into one hand, but our friend soared to
135lbs…. All of it drool. Harley wasn't just well behaved, he was perfect. He
never chewed furniture, never bit, always wanted to greet everyone. People would
stop their cars as we walked down the street and ask "How's Harley?" Sometimes
we didn't even know who was asking, his reputation had no boundaries. It was
easy to spot him, the huge dog with a teddy bear in his mouth. At home, Harley
became synonymous with living. Most people look forward to seeing their pets
when they get home. I needed it thrived on it. He was my morning kiss, my smile
when i got home, and my blanket at night. As he aged, we spent our days sitting
on the porch together watching the world go by. He never left my side. It's not
enough to call him my dog. He is my eternal companion, my friend. In the end, he
aged gracefully, peacefully, dignified. We miss you Harley so dearly. Time
passes, tears fade, but you are with me forever.
