Bugsy came to us in 1996 from people who no longer wanted him. He was a rescue
before we had rescue. He was abused, overweight, tied to a tree all day, and
fear aggressive. We worked hard with his problems, and many times he was almost
on his way to the vets, after biting Tom again. My heart went out for the old
Bugger Boy - it was not his fault he was the way he was. He ended up staying
with us until he died. He settled in his age, getting grey and slow, he learned
to listen, to behave and to be a love. He suffered from Mange, Lyme disease and
had growths on his eyelids. The sad day came when he was unable to stand and we
found a blockage of his abdominal aorta. For Bugsy - he would not be able to
handle the humiliation of no longer being independent. Bugsy left us on April 2,
2003. He will be missed
