DDBSA PROTECTION OF LOGO

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2003 THE DDBSA MEMBERSHIP VOTED AMENDED THE BYLAWS TO PROTECT THE CLUB'S NAME AND LOGO

The name "Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America, Inc." and the associated seal and logo are trademarked with the State of New Jersey, are the sole property of this club, and may not be used for any purpose outside of this club for any reason without the written consent/approval from the Board of Directors. This includes, but is not limited to, the distribution of any posted materials from individuals to members. The DDBSA will provide you with the logo and said logo must be used in the same format, size and colors as provided.

The logo may not be used with any third person's article or column over which the DDBSA has no editorial control. The logo may not appear in any advertising or in any type of visual presentation without specific DDBSA approval. Request for approval may be directed to the Logo Committee.

Effective January 1, 2009 the following rules and guidelines are in effect with regard to usage of the DDBSA Logo:

            1.  Must be a member in good standing with the AKC and DDBSA.

            2.  Must be a member with the DDBSA for at least one year prior to requesting use of logo.

            3.  Must participate in other club programs such as health stars, breeder listing and etc.

            4.  Any changes other than updating or adding photos on your website will require that your site be re-approved.

            5.  If you fail to return the DDBSA Logo Use Agreement within 30 days of approval you lose your approval status.

Disciplinary:  The first time a person violates the above a warning will be given in the form or email or written correspondence. The second time this same person violates this policy her/she will be fined the sum of $250.00. The third time a person violates this rule he/she will be fined the sum of $500.00 and suspended from the club for a period of 12 months. If a fine is imposed that person must pay said fine within 30 days. If payment of the fine is not made within 30 days, then that person is suspended from the club until said fine is paid in full.

Each and every member in good standing with the DDBSA is entitled to use the DDBSA Logo and/or club name for use on their website and/or advertising but first must obtain approval by the DDBSA Logo Committee.  The Logo Committee consists of the following members:

Amanda Ritschard
Sally Fitzgerald
Hilary Branscum
Angie Reed

The main contact person for this committee is Amanda Ritschard.  You can contact her at email at aaritschard@yahoo.com.  If you are interested in using the logo please contact Amanda to request approval for your use.

If you are requesting to use the logo on your website the Logo Committee must review your site to verify that the information you state is true and no false claims or statements are used.  The Committee may request clarification or request that certain wording be if changed if they feel the wording is a bit misleading or unclear.  You as the Requestor have the choice to make these changes or not.  If you choose not to make these changes then you will not be approved for the logo use on your website.  Once you have been approved you will be contacted via email or telephone and the Logo Use Agreement will be sent to you for your signature which needs to be returned within 30 days of receipt.  The logo will also be provided to you if needed.  Any changes you make to your website must be re-approved by the Logo Committee.  This does not include updating pictures on your website just the change of any text on your site.  Most approvals are completed in less than a week so this really isn't a long process.

If you are requesting to use the logo for an ad being placed in a magazine please provide Amanda with a copy of the proposed ad so that the same may be forwarded to the Logo Committee for their approval. Again the Committee may request clarification or request that certain wording be if changed if they feel the wording is a bit misleading or unclear.  You as the Requestor have the choice to make these changes or not.  If you choose not to make these changes then you will not be approved for the logo use on your website.  Once you have been approved you will be contacted via email or telephone and the Logo Use Agreement will be sent to you for your signature and must be returned within 30 days of receipt.  The logo will also be provided to you if needed.  Any changes you make to your ad must be re-approved by the Logo Committee.

To date no one has been refused or denied use of the logo. If you see a website that is not listed above using the DDBSA Seal or Logo please contact Amada immediately so that appropriate action may be taken.  Also if you see a website that states that they are members of the DDBSA in good standing but no logo is associated with that claim does not mean they are members in good standing.  Please contact the DDBSA to inquire about their actual status with the club.
