TOP JUNIOR HANDLER OF THE YEAR
The Top Junior Handler of the Year recognizes Junior Handler achievements with the breed. It encourages participation in the ring for the young enthusiast while rewarding good sportsmanship by the next generation of handlers.
Eligibility:
· The Junior must be under 18 years old on the day of the shows for which statistics are submitted.
· The Junior must obtain a Junior Number with AKC.
· The Junior Handler must fall under the household membership for the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America for this award and the membership must be in good standing.
· The Junior Handler must be in good standing with AKC.
Eligibility of the dog:
· Each dog entered in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be a Dogue de Bordeaux.
· The dog must be owned or co-owned by
the Junior Handler or the Junior Handler’s father,
mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather, or
grandmother, including corresponding step and half
relations, or by a permanent member of the Junior Handler’s household.
General Rules:
· The year shall run from January 1st through December 31.st
· A Junior Handler form must be submitted by January 31st of the year in which the award is sought.
· The Awards Committee may recommend revision of the Junior Handler Award with revisions approved by majority vote of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Board of Directors. Notification of such revision will be made to the membership on a timely basis.
