SIRES AND DAMS OF MERIT

The Sires and Dams of Merit Award has been established to honor sires and dams who are distinguished by their production of offspring achieving titled status.

 

Eligibility:

bulletOwner or co-owner of the sire or dam must be a member in good standing with the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America.
bulletSire or dam must be AKC registered or registered with an AKC-accepted registry.
bulletAward may be given to any eligible dogue, whether living or deceased.
bulletA Sire of Merit Award will be given to a male dogue siring 10 titled dogues:

1.     7 titles must be AKC conformation titles.

2.     3 titles may be AKC conformation titles or titles from other acceptable AKC recognized events and/or other working titles recognized and verifiable by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working Dogue Program.

bulletA Dam of Merit Award will be given to a female dogue producing 5 titled dogues:

       1.  3 titles must be AKC conformation titles.

       2.  2 titles may be AKC conformation titles or titles from other acceptable

            AKC recognized events and/or other working titles recognized and

            verifiable by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working

             Dogue Program.

 

bulletOffspring born after the death of a stud dogue or via frozen semen may be

counted in the calculation of this award so long as eligibility requirements are met.

 

General Rules:

bulletThe owner or co-owner must submit the Sire and Dam of Merit nomination form.  All offspring title information provided will be verified by the Awards Committee, using published AKC official records and records maintained by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working Dogue Program.
bulletThese awards are not given automatically.  Nomination forms must have been submitted by January 31st of the year in which the award is sought.
bulletOffspring may be counted only once regardless of number of titles obtained.
bulletThe Awards Committee may recommend revisions to this program and such revisions will be approved by majority vote of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Board of Directors.  Notification of such revisions will be made to the membership on a timely basis.
bulletAwards for Sires and Dams of Merit will be presented at the National Specialty Show.
